OSRS 1 to 99 Fletching Guide

Fletching is quite a popular way to make money in OSRS. The reason? Well, it has low prerequisites to train, and it is AFK-able. With a good investment and the right Woodcutting level, you can turn your bank around while also maxing out. The statement is true among Ironmen, who resell bows to shops or use the arrows for themselves.

On the other hand, if you don’t break the training into different activities, it can get a bit tedious. That’s why we’ve put together a guide for you to help smooth the journey to achieving level 99 Fletching. Let’s begin!

Arrows & Bolts

Making Arrows & Bolts is a widely known method where you can do other tasks parallel to the actual training. For instance, if you’re on a Slayer task, you can fletch arrows in between fights.

You’ll be spending a fair amount of time making Arrow Shafts and Arrowheads, and gathering Feathers. You can also directly purchase everything from the Grand Exchange, but you’ll in a bit of a loss.

You’re going to be making the best arrows on the list. Start by making regular Iron Arrows from level 1 to 30, and then switch to Steel at level 30. From level 30 onwards, you can move to Broad Bolts, but you’ll have to spend 300 Slayer Points with a Slayer Master for it.

It’s a good time to train your Slayer alongside Fletching to work your way up to level 55. If you decide not to train slayer, continue making the highest-level arrows all the way to level 99. You’ll see yourself getting about 155k XP per hour in Fletching.

Bank Noting & Bows

The next method revolves around making Unstrung Bows, followed by stringing them. It’ll give a slightly better XP than making arrows. You might have already noticed players Fletching at banks across the game, without actually doing anything else.

Fletching isn’t a focus-demanding or click-intensive skill, so you can probably ‘Netflix’ on another skill while training. Your character will spend approx. 40 seconds to fletch the entire inventory of bows.

Start by carrying noted Logs and a Knife in your inventory. Now, stand next to a banker or bank chest. We recommend the Seers’ Village Bank. Position yourself at the back corner, and then use the noted Logs on the banker to un-note them. Fletch the inventory into Unstrung Bows, deposit them through the bank deposit box, and then repeat. You’ll be exceeding 200k XP per hour at level 50.

Alternatively, you can string Unstring Bows at the Grand Exchange. You can purchase the items you need in large quantities if you have enough Old School Runescape Gold on you. It’s also a faster approach to level up than fletching Unstrung Bows from logs.

Moving back to the grind. You need to start by fletching regular logs into Unstrung Bows and then selling them at the Grand Exchange when you’re about level 10. Next, start stringing Unstrung Longbows till you reach level 20. For levels 20 to 35, you need to flitch Oak Short Bows & Longbows into Unstrung Bows and then move to Willow Short Bows & Longbows until level 50.

You’ll now start making a profit by fletching Maple Bows. We recommend stringing till the very end for the fastest XP. Don’t worry both ways will give you a fair amount of profit when you hit level 99. You’ll see yourself at around 200k OSRS GP & XP per hour when you start stringing Magic Longbows.

Darts

Making Darks is the quickest way to level up your Fletching skill. However, you’ll be losing a shit ton of gold in the process because of the materials you’ll be purchasing. Here’s what your journey will look like.

From level 1 to 22, you’ll be making Bronze Darts, followed by Iron Darts till level 37, Steel Darts till level 52, Mithril Darts till level 67, Adamant Darts till level 81, and finally, Rune Darts all the way till level 99 Fletching.

There’s a good way to double up your XP. Click on a material, double-click the other, and then keep double-clicking each one. There’s not much mouse movement but you need to be focused. Only approach this method if you’re okay with achieving quick levels at a cost of losing your RS Gold.

Conclusion

Whichever path you may choose is entirely up to you. Fletching isn’t a hard skill to train, and it’s even on our list of the top 5 easiest skills to train in OSRS. Give the article a read and good luck!
